Why does US news constantly under rate UCSD? We're at 37 now while UCLA is at 23. But we're nearly the same in every department except for maybe the English majors. I don't think there should be that big of gap between UCSD and UCLA

It only matters if you value US news rankings.

@DrGoogle I value their rankings cause they gather all that data and go over it for months to come up with the rankings and I usually agree with their rankings but they really under rate some schools and over rate some others… UCSD at 37 is just way too low and they have Davis and SB right after at 39 and 40 which is too high for them if you have UCSD at 37

That’s the reason why I don’t value their rankings, UCSD has more programs in the top 20, lots of Nobel Prize winners that have taught or are teaching at UCSD. Top 10 in receiving federal research money. The more I found out the more I like about UCSD.

@DrGoogle yeah I just lost all respect for us news… They have West Point ranked 24th in national liberal arts, that’s just outrageous

I’m glad you finally realize that. I don’t want to speak ill of other UCs but if you check out UCSD is a phenom all school. So many people diss UCSD because it’s not social, and that’s debatable, but the academics are top notch. The kind of people or faculty UCSD was able to hire is amazing. These people don’t come to other UCs.
