First question (for current students, preferably upperclassmen)

Q: What, in your opinion, is the hardest part about bioengineering. It could be any of the three (four if you count premed) tracks.

based on my experience with a bioengineer as a suitemate (first year): the workload.

umm.. i'm in the bioengineering tract and... the hardest part is probably... the sheer workload in your 3rd and 4th years. if you compare the sample flowchart to the flowchart of another major, you'll definitely see the difference. the number of classes in other majors will seem like nothing to somebody in bioengineering. (specifically the ABET accredited ones.. because the other two have fewer required courses) That's not to say that other majors are really easy, but that the number of required classes in bioengineering is pretty much on a different level compared to some other majors.

however, the first two years aren't too bad in terms of workload

thanks for the input, guys

Anyone have any tips, guidelines as to what classes I should be signing up for because I'm really clueless when it comes to courses... or should I just wait for the orientation? Problem is, I might not be able to make the July orientation. Will it be too late to sign up for classes in September?

PS- will we be able to choose which (2) dates to attend for the summer orientation?

go here: Courses, Curricula, and Programs look for your major and there should a list of classes that you need to take. some majors have a sample schedule laid out for you that you should follow. September is pretty late to sign up for classes, but if i recall correctly, 1st years sign up relatively late. and yes, you get to choose which orientation to go to.
