Was there only one vip tour? or are there a few (upcoming ones)? Totally understand why I didn’t receive anything even though i live close to the school because my sat is well below their normal applicant. Praying that my essays will help me out because I poured my heart into those 
@sarale Do you mean they only administered one tour? If so, then no, they gave out 3-4 tours over the course of a month. If I’m correct, I believe they are still continuing. However, you would have been notified some time ago if you were invited. This is due to the fact that they required you to make an appointment quickly.
I attended the UCSD VIP Tour a couple of weeks ago and I just received a call letting me know I’m in! I asked about Regents and she informed me that they are still finalizing the list. It seems we can assume that an invite to the VIP tour may signify an acceptance. 
@SD2020 I mean, you got an early admit into UC Berkeley but hopefully you are correct. Congrats!
It has to @IBGuy101. No reason for UCSD to spend money on candidates they are not even interested in! The free shirt and lunch for two did cost them at least $30 a pop X number of participating family. Doesn’t seem much but it adds up! Especially for a public university with limited budget. I’m calling it! Everyone who was invited to the VIP Tour will be admitted! Let’s stay positive!

Did anyone here get a handwritten letter/thank you note from the woman who was in charge of the VIP tour? I got one in the mail today.

So apparently I got in today but I missed my call so I got to wait with the rest of the applicants to see if I got into my first choice major (CS). As far as I see it, VIP Tour = Admitted and Reception email = Admitted.
