UCSD vs NYU Econ

Hey guys, so I got accepted into NYU and UCSD (Econ for both), and I’m having trouble deciding where to go. Here are some factors:

-I’m trying to get a double major with international relations and then possibly go to law school. No matter what I want to focus on the global side of economics, which requires me to have access to the community outside of the university
-I probably won’t get any money from either school. NYU costs about $15,000 more than UCSD ($75,000 vs. $60,000)
-I was accepted into the Marshall College at UCSD which was my preference but in case I may want to switch my major, the more social issue related gen-ed’s they require may limit my options for switching around
-NYU invited me to the Presidential Honors Scholars Program. This would be a great opportunity to make connections and travel but the upkeep to stay in the program and expectation to study abroad may be a strain on me financially and academically.

Overall, I like the access that NYU would give me a lot more. I also have family around NYC that may make the transition easier (I live in Chicago). However, I enjoy the location of San Diego more and feel like I would be able to excel without the ‘dog-eat-dog’ pressure that New York has. My parents are willing to pay for either school, but I want to also make the smart choice financially, I am not sure if the connections and Scholars program are worth 15k. So my question is this: is it worth going to NYU over UCSD, given all these factors? I appreciate any contributions about this question or any experiences you’ve had with either of these colleges.
Thanks!
