I got off the waitlist of UCSD and i’m now in the Marshall College for Cognitive Science. I’m in love with NYU and it’s big city but i’m also in Steinhardt and I’m hoping to transfer into CAS to go from applied psychology into regular psychology. I’m from SoCal but I loved NYU. I know UCSD is better for psychology than NYU, but will it impact me that much? Also, UCSD and NYU are only $200 difference for financial aid (obviously UCSD is cheaper). Help please!
200 dollars or 2,000 dollars? Either way, if you loved NYU and it’s affordable, by all means go there.
$200 dollars but my parents really want me to stay close to home and UCSD has a very good psych program so idk if it’s worth it to go to a school that i love or just go to a school that could help me in the future.
The prestige of the school (NYU vs UCD) or the name of it will not matter in the long run. Your GPA and what you do there matters most. Do you like UCSD at all or did you want to go to the big city? I mean, this is down to personal preference. I also just realized that you’re in Applied Psych for NYU, not regular Psych. I’m not sure if it would be a hassle to transfer. If psych is something you really want to do and UCSD has a good program (and Mom and Dad are pumping up for it.) then maybe it’s worth it to give it a shot. How do you feel about UCSD?
UCSD was ok…I didn’t necessarily like the campus. I still have to transfer to psych from cognitive science at UCSD
UCSD
I’d go to NYU if it’s cheap for the experience.
