UCSD vs UCI

Hi everyone, I know this topic is old, but i'm still can't decide between UCSD or UCI. The problem is UCI is near my home and i might have a high chance that i will get an internship at Irvive. However, I hear that UCSD is have more opportunity to get the job or go higher in education than UCI and it also famous than UCI. If i go to UCSD i won't know that after i go do i have an internship or opportunity like this. So can anyone give me some advice ? I really grateful for your help and i'm apologize for my bad english if my writing confuse you.

If you have a good chance of getting internship at UCI, then go for it. Even though UCSD is a more well-known school than UCI, students with internship, job, and/or research experiences are more favored than those who just graduate from a “good” school. Also UCI is a relatively easier school than UCSD, so if you get good grades at UCI then your resume will be liked and you will be more likely to be hired.

Amazing grades + Internship/Research/Job experiences > mediocre grades and no internship.

And getting good grades means you will have a better chance of getting into graduate school. So overall, I recommend the internship opportunity. It’ll be better in the long run.

Thanks so much, and little more, do u know how different between UCI and UCSD in computer engineering ? I did my research but it seem to me that they not much different . Thanks so much

UCI’s Computer Engineering/Computer Science Department is very good. UCI has great programs for technical and computer engineers although the school’s mechanical/aerospace aren’t better than UCSD’s.
