<p>I'm interested in both. I've always wanted to go to UCSD but I'm starting to think it over because i've heard that grad schools mostly look at GPA. My major is comp science engineering but I'm probably going to change it. Something to do with math/science/computers. I'm also from the bay area and my mom doesn't want me to go that far. I have relatives in Irvine.</p>

<p>They do look at GPA, but do they not also look at competition? rigor? rank?</p>
<p>in that case, why not go to chico state or Deanza to get a great GPA?</p>
<p>UCSD has it all over UCI but if there’s a huge financial aid difference, that could be a significant deciding factor. GPA isn’t a good reaon to choose though, especially if the research opportunities are better at one school than another.</p>
