Hi all.. I was accepted to UCSB and UCSD but recieved a supplement request from SD. We are waiting for LA kn friday, and although my SD acceptance makes me happy, I am worried I wont get in because I did not receive a supplement request from LA. LA is my top choice, only applied to LA SD and SB not Cal. Also my stats are 2110 SAT and 3.86 UW gpa 4.17 UC gpa. I know my gpa is lower than LAs average but SAT is higher. I have had all As minus first semester of junior year when I recieved two bs and one c. I explained in the additional comments section how I suffered thru an eating disorder as well as depression and my grades dropped because I had to work a job outside of school. I worked hard and brought all the grades back up to As ( I took 4 weighted classes that year).
I am taking a very intense courseload this year (will take 6 AP tests this year alone) and my ECs and personal statement support my major of Global Studies but I am afraid because I did not recieve a supplement request from LA. Do you think that one semester will kill my chances? Or will my improvement and explanation help? Also my major is fairly rare and not many people apply for it. Btw sat 2 scores are 760 ISH and 730 Lit. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thank you so much!!

Supplements are only for borderline applicants. If you didn’t get one, it means they had all necessary info to make a final decision, to outright accept/reject you. From looking at your stats & major, it’s very likely you were accepted. :)

Aw thank you so much. Honestly going on cc and seeing the 2017 UCLA acceptances with ppl with 4.5 GPAs and 2300 SATs intimidates me and makes me feel like I got rejected. Why would a technically worse school od SD think me borderline but LA not? Im sure u know how nerve racking this whole process is ah

^ Yeah, it’s pretty intimidating. /:

No idea, colleges make odd choices sometimes lol…Best of luck :)

True that sister preach haha are u waiting to hear back as well?

^ Yup. Bracing myself for a rejection though (engineering major) lol

Ah that’s a tough one but I guess its fate. Wherever we get in those places we will do best at and succeed and have the best overall exeperience

^ Yuup, whichever schools pick us, it’s because they know we’ll fit in just right. :)
