Hi! I am a senior in high school, hoping to go to the University of Florida. I have always received straight A's. I have a weighted 5.02 GPA prior to my senior year and unweighted 3.96. All of my classes have been AP honors or AICE quality. I have been a varsity cheerleader for all four years & I am captain for my senior year. I also have been on the varsity softball team for the past three years & will be for the upcoming season as well. I will also be captain. I have volunteered many hours to a memory care center for those with Alzheimer's and hope to volunteer at a hospital very soon. I hope to major in biomedical science and be a doctor for oncology or pediatrics someday. Second semester of my junior year, I started early admission to Edison State College and will have completed 47 college credits, maintaining a 4.0 GPA hopefully. I recently took the SAT in October for the first time and received a score of 1620. 600 on math, 540 on critical reading and 480 on writing. I am really upset and have been stressing out. With all aspects considered will I be accepted to UF?
I am hoping to take the SAT again in December, but I am not sure if they will accept the score because of how late it is.
Thanks to all that help<3

I also applied to FSU UCF and probably will apply to USF or FAU!

You have a great record! I believe you’re in at UCF (might be offered summer though) and FAU. You’re golden, except for your SAT. December SAT is fine, I’m retaking December too. Just work hard and you’ll see the change in your score. If you need any studying material, I have a bunch of very helpful PDFs. Best of luck :)

Agreed with aares, I think you are a shoo-in at FAU if you apply. On the other hand though, FSU has a requirement of 500 in writing so you would not be accepted according to their website (Go to admissions requirements). There may be other colleges in FL that do the same too, so I would look into that if I were you. BUT, if they dont, back to the matter at hand; I do think UF and UCF would also be reaches, given the SAT score (And I know it sucks that it matters so much, but it does). This is because UCF middle 50% is 1730+ according to [Prospective Students](University of Central Florida | Undergraduate Admissions), and UF is even harder to get into. Good luck though to whatever schools you do apply to.

Thank you so much to you both. I am registering for the December SAT and hoping to raise score to a 1750 1800 so I will feel much more comfortable Applying to colleges is so stressful! Best wishes to you both!
