@PrettyPeridot, Because someone, somewhere who is not a die hard fan is going to be taking my seat at George Washington.

I know people who wish they could go to fsu, if it makes you better someone, somewhere wishes they were in your seat. Its all about perspective.

Not very stupid-- I wholeheartedly disagree with the sentiment of your previous post. If your idea was wrong (which it would be if you were in a place that nobody else wanted to be in), it wouldn’t make a difference to me.

You come from a rather affluent upper-middle class family that makes more than 15 times what mine makes, and you say you go to a huge competitive highschool… So, yeah… You’re also being “forced to go to UF” so I’m not really worried that I’m talking to someone that happens to be in a place that no one would want to be in (and if you legitimately were I doubt that there would be internet access, or that you would have any electricity for that matter).

Anyways, I don’t think that a thread about someone asking about appealing so that they can go to UF would ever be a good place to post about how you’re sad about being forced to go to UF. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t post-- just be ready to be criticized.

I find it creepy how you claim to know things about my life. If I am from such an affluent family why would I have stated that I cannot afford to go to the school of my choice? If that were the case I wouldn’t have been on the UF thread to begin with.

You have no idea who you’re talking to, so don’t be so quick to judge, and so what if I were to go to a large high school. Its just the school I’m assigned to because of district lines, that doesn’t make me special or “privileged”.

Here are some quotes from previous posts found from about a minute in your profile…

Again

The median US income is around $30,000. You are extremely privileged-- even on a national scale, let alone international. Even having access to AP classes at all puts you at an extreme advantage over many.

Well, I called there the other day and my appeal package was received by them on March 14th. They confirmed that it was logged in for that date. They informed me that it has not been heard yet and they are not 100% positive that it will me. I private messaged another poster who got his decision and his package was sent on March 26th. The appeal package says that they will be heard on a first come first serve basis. Obviously, that is not the case. I have very little hope that I will ever hear back from them regarding my appeal. Some things happen for a reason and I suppose we just have to accept that.

PS…my original application decision was also not available on 2/10/12 like everyone else. I received my rejection the following week after calling there for it. I doubt that I was looked at with my peers and I guess I wont be looked at for the appeal either. Sometimes you just have to believe that something does not want you to go to that school no matter how much you want to.

I sound extremely emo? Did your keyboard break in mid sentence. I hope so because posters like you are not necessary nor are they welcome in this forum. We all try to help everyone here by sharing our experiences and other pieces of info that might not be known by others with the same issues or circumstances.

No one likes a bully. Calling her emo was rude and uncalled for, she didn’t sound emo at all, in fact she sounded like she was handling it a lot better than most would.

This is not the first time watwat has been blatantly insulting to other posters on a thread…I suggest not engaging.

hghhshjunior - I think your reaction is normal given the circumstances. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get your acceptance notification very soon. :)

Remember in case you are unable to attend, UF is just one school, there are lots of great schools out there. And remember transfer opportunities! Thats probably what I will try to do if I am able to, transfer from UF to GWU.

If you haven’t already, you should probably put a deposit down at another school just in case. If your appeal is approved, which sadly seems very unlikely, you can always rescind your commitment.
