One week until decisions are released. Where is everyone from and what are your stats? Where is UFlorida ranked on your own personal lists?
UF is my OOS son’s first choice. He was accepted at FSU, but for Summer session which has me nervous about his chances for UF. Sooooo nervous for him. Friday can’t come soon enough.
Good luck to all!
In terms of Florida schools, I applied to UF, USF, Rollins, Embry-Riddle, Eckerd, UTampa. I have been accepted to all so far. I am still waiting on UF. I am OOS.
@FBLsMom did your son apply for fall and was given Summer for FSU?
@jfmoney. Correct. He applied for fall but was offered summer at FSU.
His school does not offer AP classes, so he doesn’t get that bump in his GPA. Nervous for his chances at UF, as it’s his first choice. I don’t think UF accepts school profiles so I don’t know how they would know to take that into consideration.
@FBLsMom UF for sure gets the school profile. It’s the only way they know if you took the most rigorous classes offered. They discussed it at a session I went to 2 weeks ago. Every year schools add and remove classes. UF has to know what is offered in order to compare kids at their own school as well as to others eventually. They can’t fly blind. Anyone else agree ? @GatorDad305 ?
AO’s are responsible to know about the schools in their territory. If in doubt (particularly for schools in states we don’t visit) we will look up the school’s curriculum online.
@jhmoney I don’t have any specialized knowledge beyond what I learned speaking with the AO on the tours. I do know that kids get admitted to UF who attend high schools that don’t offer any AP classes – so UF (and others) must know how to judge each school. My guess is that UF has a pretty good handle on every high school in the Southeast and beyond. Might be nervous if I was applying from a small school that was 2000 miles away. That being said, one of my best friends from UF (a million years ago) went to high school in Alaska.
3 more days. Did everyone read the UF blog post for Friday?

Hi, I know that UF doesn’t give many scholarships but I was wondering if in the past people got scholarship decisions with admission decisions. I’m OOS and am curious about receiving a OOS fee waiver for music. Thanks!
@account5275 2 years ago when my D1 applied to UF, she recieved notificaton of an OOS scholarship about 2 weeks after the admissions decisions. However I believe (since the decisions are coming out 2 weeks later this year) I read from a poster associated with UF, that scholarship announcements will come out about 1 week after admissions decisions this year.
Good luck today everyone!
They are out!
Got in for fall term!!
1280 SAT, 3.9 GPA, 27 ACT
about 4 AP classes taken
botany research for three years ( made it sound fancy on application)
average volunteer and extra circulars
Everyone should be using this thread since there are so many alternate ones.
I got in! 1500 SAT and 4.3 GPA. About 15 APs, varsity/club soccer 4 years and lots of volunteering.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN!!!
I got in with 1520 SAT and 4.25 GPA. I’m an international student. No APs offered in my school. Average ECAs. Did some volunteer activities and taught in a school for autistic children for quite a while. I’m really really really happy. UF was one of my top schools.
Can anyone tell me when they’re gonna inform us about any scholarship that we might receive? Because I didn’t see anything about it in the decision letter. Thanks in advance.
Scholarship info should be going out in another week.
@Melissa96 Will they put anything about the Benaquisto for the NMFs?
That will start going out slightly later. The first list will show up early March
