So my essay is ~510 words, which meets the Coalition app word count limit, but I heard there is a character limit at UF. Is this true?! Because my essay is over 2,500 characters (including spaces).
For UF, you upload a document in the “Upload” section (i.e. you don’t have to type your essay into a box within the Coalition App). The Coalition app doesn’t have any indication of how many characters are in the essay.
Monkey288195, You are correct. UF website states “Your essay should be limited to approximately 2500 characters, including spaces.”
shortnuke is also correct that the essay to UF is provided via an upload of a document.
@fl1234 So does that mean I need to follow the 2,500 character limit or the 550 word limit?
For the UF supplemental application I would follow the UF guidelines. Have you made it to the UF supplement yet where it asks you about residency? Also, note that the UF statement says approximately 2500 characters.
@fl1234 No, I have not made it to the supplemental section. What does it contain? Are there questions?
Yes. More questions, but not essay questions. More about establishing residency and providing proof of residency like drivers license and voting registration if claiming Florida residency. It is also where you will upload your essay.
