UF Hauntings

Ouch that sucks, so I'm guessing theres parties all the time and not so much quiet time? Maybe I'll change my 1st choice from broward to yulee area.

lets keep in mind that the chamilitary doesn't go to UF yet. lets also keep in mind that this is the most ignorant, most prejudging comment i've read in this forum in a long time.

thanks, maybe I should swoop to your level and generalize you based on your user name. I thought we were going to UF here, not an ivy league where such a statement applies. If you were joking, which I hope you were, I apologize. sarcasm doesn't translate through text in an easy manner

I have met dozens of people from broward and many of them are the most chill, down to earth individuals i've ever run across even for a brief period of time. The way broward works is it ALLOWS you to be social if you'd like. if you have an understanding with your roomate, youll have an agreement to take partying OUT of your dorm room. Only bring it into your own room when both are partying together.

I'd much rather have the option of opening my door into a social scene if I'd like, while having the option of closing my door to study. Plus, most of the time i'll study elsewhere.

I suppose the alternative is to generalize an entire dorm room with hundreds of students, go to a quiet area and resort to returning to this website AFTER next year starts as the only form of social communication.

You made my day.

i'm being serious...there are guys that dress up like girls in order to get into sororities

The movie with Will Ferrell and the movie where guys dress up like girls to get into a sorority are two COMPLETELY SEPERATE movies, ChamilitaryMayne.

Ruo has proved to me he knows what he's talking about and only puts in his opinion when he knows. So people reading and using this please value his opinion and disregard that of the idiots.

seiclan, also I'm sure knows as his/her opinion is based on fact and REAL LIFE experience.

OH YEAH SORRY...will ferrell was in OLD SCHOOL not SORORITY BOYS...can anyone else provide us with some first hand information on any of the dorms?

I agree broward is most sorority girls and fraternity guys . Broward is not the place you go if you want quiet time and study. The others dorms in the area are usually more relaxed than broward (i.e rawlings, mallory, yulee).

ASMAJ,

Do you mean that I will have no time to study whatsoever and have music blasting through the night most of the time?

I'm stuck between the choice of Broward and Yulee. Any advice?

My daughter has no trouble studying in her room in Broward. She also does study at the library with her friends as well. She has said on many occasions that if she had to do it over again, she would still have chosen Broward for her first choice dorm. She loves how close it is to all her classes and how easy it is to meet people there. She is much happier with the kids on her floor than her friend is (who lives in Jennings). There are some sorority girls on her floor and Frat boys on the other side of her floor but she says you rarely see them since they spend soooo much time with their sorority/frat houses. Many kids do not go Greek. It probably varies from floor to floor and year to year.

Can someone please explain to me what is so terrible about Sorority and Fraternity members?

Are any of you aware that the average greek GPA is above the average university GPA? In fact, my sorority's chapter GPA is around 3.5, about .4 higher.

Maybe we shouldn't stereotype, kids.

are you part of the Mu Alpha Theta sorority?

When I went to Broward over the summer it was HOT, not because of the HOT guys/girls but because there is not central AC but these wall units and I also looked at the communal bathrooms and they did not look to great when i was going to stay there for this high school program. The rooms I saw were double and triples that looked kind of like cell blocks and were not that inviting but what do you expect it is a college dorm. It has a great central location and is conveniently has the adjacent Broward dining hall which I think was the best dining hall on campus. Hope this helps! Don't join Mu Alpha Theta or Kappa Kappa Kappa sorrorities/fraternities.

Daaaaayyummm!!! Datz Sum Good Info Right Derre Thankz! Down Wit Kappa Kappa Kappa

We are on the University of Florida forum, not the forum for the School of Hard Knocks! Use proper grammar and spelling! I wonder what this chamilitarymayne got on is SAT writing portion

After reading the last 5 posts I feel as if my IQ has gone down.

Agreed. That's pathetic.

I think it's pathetic that the top UF sub-forum has to do about hauntings! I am sure this is the major factor in wanting to attend a school and downplays the fact that UF is a prominent academic institution.

At least someone here catches my drift....thank you sam you are the man89
