I have heard about a few ghost stories circling the town of Oxford and the university its self. The quesiton is, are they true?

havent heard these and im in my 2nd year

there are a few old dorms they say are 'haunted'.... they're not

LOL!!!

There are mysteries for sure, Ron Taman(sp?) back in the 40s(I think) was a student in now gone Fischer Hall(?) in East Quad. One night he just disappeared and was never seen again. His lamp was on at his desk, all his stuff was there. And there is something about a ghost that haunts the formal gardens (started to scare young lovers from going there at night or to GET young lovers TO go there at night...).

Dr. Shriver used to teach a class on Miami History, Lore & Legends for a long time after he retired as university president, and I think there is a book about it but...it is all in fun.

Here you go...

The Thobe's fountain one only works if you stand on top of the monument and face King Library.

Try it when you go to visit campus.

Irish, I cannot believe you don't know this!!! :)

i live in one of the supposedly haunted dorms, Peabody hall. Ms. Peabody's ghost is said to roam the halls and look out for female students (the dorm was once a women's college.) i have never seen her myself, but a friend 'felt something sit on her bed' once and you do get a weird butterfly sensation when you walk down the central girl's corridor. :-)
