I was talking to a friend of mine who is applying to UF (Nursing) and was just wondering if anyone could address some of the questions that she had.

-Do you need an AA to get into the program (She has 61 credits, and qualifies for the degree she just didn't apply for it)

-What's the lowest acceptable GPA or maybe just the average GPA for an accepted student?

Can only tell you that UF accepts approx. 25% of the applicants to Nursing school. My daughter got in with a 3.9 UF gpa. However, she found the program extremely difficult and decided that it wasn’t for her. The classes for the first semester are very challenging and are “weed out” classes.

Try your very best to get good grades your freshman and sophmore year in order to gain entry to the UF Nursing program. Also, be very prepared that if you get in, you commit totally to studying your first semester in the program…your Junior Fall semester. Good luck!

My daughter said that she heard the Nursing program was much better and easier in the junior year spring semester. I do think the Fall semester (first semester) is kind of a weed out semester. Pathophysiology is really difficult your first semester. The techniques in Nursing is quite challenging too in your first semester. Pharmacology is challenging in the first semester, but interesting and not that bad, my daughter said.
