UF PaCE vs FSU vs UM vs USF vs UCF

I am a high school senior and I have been accepted to Florida State University, University of Florida (PaCE Program), University of Central Florida, University of South Florida (with scholarship), and waitlisted at University of Miami. I am currently undecided in what field I want to go into. I have toured all universities. Does anyone have some insight into these options?

I don’t understand the temptation of PaCE, UNLESS UF is your be-all and end-all school, AND it’s unquestionably the best for your intended major. Since it looks like you have other affordable and great options.

My son has been accepted into UF, FSU, UCF and USF, among others. We will be attending the Accepted Student days next month. I told him to go into them with an open mind and not to rely too much on the first impressions from our previous 2-hour tours. (which UF is notoriously bad at). I know for him, if PaCE were his UF option he wouldn’t be considering it.

However, this is YOUR college decision, so for you it might make sense. You have to weigh the factors that are most important to you in choosing a college. So many things play into that, and PaCE could very well be a great option for you.

Finances, location, major, campus vibe etc etc. Miami is of course a wonderful, albeit expensive, option.

@Trisherella Thank you for the advice!

I would not do UF PaCE unless you are dead set on being a Gator. However, if you do PaCE, you can live in Gainesville and he can take classes at Santa Fe CC in the first year.

Unless you are engineering, FSU is a better option than UCF and USF IMHO.

If you are undecided, I wouldn’t discount Pace. Many people really like it and there are many YouTube videos. It wouldn’t work for me personally but since you get discounted tuition I would definitely check it out.

The Pace program is really limited in majors offered. If it fits your goals I wouldn’t discount it but it would be difficult to transition into some other major.
