UF: Picking a major that doesn't match my ECs

Hi, im a senior who throughout most of high school has done primarily english-related ECs:
newspaper for 4 years,
ed in chief of lit magazine,
2nd place in florida for journalism info graphics,
national journalism honor society,
national english honor society

But i am planning on declaring Pre-Med as i want to be a doctor. Will choosing English make me a better applicant for admission since it is more related to my portfolio? Or if i choose pre-med, will I be rejected by UF? thanks for any advice you can lend me!

UF doesn’t consider your major as part of (freshman) admissions. Don’t worry about it. They expect students to switch majors at least once while at UF.

They only consider your major if you’re a transfer student or have earned a AA degree (via DE) while in High School, in which case you also have to apply to your college.

Good Luck!
