Hi everyone ! I was wondering if anyone had any information about how to go about getting a class you need to complete for critical tracking that has already been filled. PHY 2053 is needed for my major, and must be completed by fall, but this class has already filled up for fall 2010 along with the lab. Is the best way to go about getting this class going and talking with the advisors? Can they put you in a class that is already full, but that you need to complete for your major? :] Any information would be such a huge help ! Thanks ! :]

Yea, you have to go and talk to an advisor. They will probably either put you into the class or postpone the requirement (if you’re otherwise tracking fine.)

As a second option you could talk to the professor, since they can usually do that stuff too, but since the weird way PHY 2053 is managed, I wouldn’t encourage this method.

Talk to an advisor first.

Stalk ISIS 24/7. You might get lucky.

You can wait during drop/add. Students tend to drop PHY2053 during the first week of school.

Good luck!

Physics for Fall 2010 is already full? This doesn’t bode well for transfer like me who have to wait until preview to select classes. The earliest I can select classes is going to be May 28th, and I have tracking requirements as well.

I’m not sure if physics is one of the classes, but they often hold seats in big classes for preview people, I don’t know how that applies to transfers specifically.

I feel like PHY2053 is a pretty introductory class, it’s held in a really big lecture, I’m sure they’ll figure something out.
