UF Spring 2019 Transfer

Anybody have any news??
I am still waiting and I think this is absolutely unacceptable. Originally we were supposed to get decisions October 15th, then apparently it was Nov. 1, then Nov. 10th but many are still waiting…

I totally agree this is really unacceptable

I was told to accept by Nov 20th, so it sounds like some will hear depend after that depending g on how many turn down spots. It’s crazy in deed. No on campus housing left by the way. So that gives people no housing. Minimal class choices. Im call to see if the even received my acceptance email so I get an official letter!!!

With how long they’re taking, I’m not surprised there’s no more housing left. It’s like they really don’t want us to have a good experience. I’m starting to have second thoughts…

I haven’t posted on this thread yet but I’ve been following for a while. I applied as an advertising major around September 12th, and still haven’t received a decision. I’ve gone back and forth with admissions about the classes required to even be considered as an applicant which has been really stressful. I had to pick up a macro class, but then they told me that my previous US history class wasn’t good enough, so I told them I could take a different one over the winter session. I haven’t registered for the course yet, but UF hasn’t asked me for any proof of registration, so I don’t want to waste the money unless they’ll for sure offer me a spot. Idk this whole process has been ridiculously stressful and unaccommodating.

I was frustrated a while back and you provided me with support and hope. I appreciated that and now would like to return the favors. Your stats are amazing and I’m quite sure if you hanging there you will too be accepted! I called again this am to ask for more info , it seems they are do extremely backlogged and flow at every turn. As you said , once we get past this aspect it will be worth it in the end as their Business school is superior. If you want to look at the courses left to sign up for let me know. I’ll send you the link.

Thanks… appreciate it. It’s just that logically, they should be backlogged considering they had an extra month to sort things out.

But oh well… it is what it is. I’ll keep patiently waiting.

Completely agree! Worried about housing now.

@Courtney22 I suggest you take marco class. Most schools requires mico and marco to be considered as upper division transfer student.

There plenty off-campus housing. I will just find a realtor. They will keep everything in place.

My friend got accepted today! he found out this morning

To all people waiting for an email… I didn’t get an email but when I opened my account there was a box that said there was “a new update”. I clicked it and I well… I got in to Information Systems!!!
Good luck to you all!!!

@thomasM5 you won’t get an acceptance email. But you’ll get an acceptance letter by mail like a month later. They’ve been messy in my whole process.

Congratulations!

Anyone waiting for anything at all should call for sure, just talked to someone they said they are so behind, he immediately went into the system and updated my status only because I called and things are rolling now. Good luck!

I called today for the Computer/Electrical Engineering applications, and they told me that all the decisions should be out by this friday afternoon for the college of engineering.

So once you get in, what are the next steps… because now I have a new tab in my portal called “next steps” where they ask for my official college and high school transcripts.
But there’s also a “transfer checklist” that says to create a GatorLink account. Problem is, you need a code that you receive through email. Sooo I am a little confused.

@thomasM5 yes you’ll need to create a gator link account. But it can take a few days to receive the email with the link and instructions.
And yes it will ask for you final transcripts. I applied after I had received my AA so I didn’t have any final transcripts to send so after a few days my portal said that requirement had been satisfied.

To give you an idea of what needs to be done before you start classes is: attend orientation, submit proof of vaccinations, submit proof of health insurance(not sure about this requirement), get your financial aid package, secure on/off campus housing and ofc to create your gatorlink which is what will give you access to you student portal/student email.

I got accepted about a month ago and have had to figure out most of these things out because they barely email you or hold your hand. But usually you can call individual departments to get things rolling. Example: I called the financial aid office to get my package and they created one for me that same day. So just call/email the different departments for questions. Let me know if there’s any other questions. Good luck.

Any more questions you can kik me at: Chewaccathegirl. @thomasM5

Only thing I can’t find are orientation dates? Do you happen to remember the options?
