@HenryWasRight I have no idea how that works. I know in the application they made you input how many As Bs Cs etc you have and that gives you a GPA number but I have no idea if that’s accurate or not or if it’s hiw they actually calculate it
@faithandpatience There’s contradicting information online whether or not they accept grade forgiveness from other institutions. My 3.02 is the lowest possible score they could calculate it as. There’s a pretty big difference between a 3.02 and a 3.25.
@HenryWasRight yeah of course. I think your best bet is gonna be calling the office of admissions and explaining your questions to them so you can know for certain.
@HenryWasRight I think you should email the admissions office. They should reply within a day
Hi. I’m new and wanted to share my experience!
Current school: State College of Florida
GPA: 3.2 (had some issues one semester)
Pre- Prof: 3.5
Major: Criminology and Law
I applied 9/5/18! As of right now, all my transcripts were received so now I’m just waiting to see if I’ll be referred to CLAS and hopefully I’ll get in!
@WingChaser congrats on getting into UF. Have they sent you a financial aid package yet? Were they generous with grants and other money? I’m so curious.
I plan on applying to UF for the 2019 Spring term as a transfer student.
Chance me?
Stats:
Current Institution: Florida State University
Overall GPA: 3.94
Business Pre-Req GPA: 3.93
Intended major: Information Systems (Warrington)
Only a 3.94? You’ve got no shot.
?
Obviously you’ll be competitive. You have a nearly perfect GPA. Do you have your AA?
@ThomasM5 didn’t the deadline to apply already pass?
@thomasM5 you have great stats! You for sure have a chance don’t worry, but what @050606050105 said is also true, the deadline for most colleges was september 15th. Have you checked to see if it’s different for your major?
Ugh guys my app still hasn’t been sent to my college and I have no idea if there’s anything I can do to speed up the process.
@050606050105 Same. I understand they’re busy, but it’s been pretty frustrating having everything in and seeing my application going nowhere. I also get different answers every time I call so I’m just waiting.
@HenryWasRight what major and what is your gpa? Also what do they say when you call? I will be calling tomorrow for the first time.
@050606050105 I submitted my application about two weeks ago! I found this forum a couple days ago and decided to submit my stats to see what you guys think.
I did this because Warrington is pretty narrow when they claim their admission process is “competitive”. I just wanted to get a sense of where I am standing.
@050606050105 My GPA is 3.25 (pre-prof is 4.0) and I’m an international studies major in CLAS. I submitted my application on 08/18 and have yet to be referred. I am hoping it will be this week.
All of the applications were sent to the colleges when the admissions office rolled into the new system over labor day weekend. There is no more application status change to referred.
I called today and they told me my application had to be re referred because of the new system so they were able to do that over the phone. Do you mind me asking how you know that there’s no referral system? Thank you for all of the info by the way! @Melissa96
@Melissa96 so the status won’t be updated to say it was sent to my college? It’s already there?
right, the status won’t say referred because its already there. The admission office has to check (or recheck for previously referred files) in the new system that the basic requirements are met but the college isn’t waiting for a decision. They have the file right as soon as it downloads and can start making decisions based on the uploaded transcripts. Now just because they can doesn’t mean they will - especially for competitive majors - the colleges will still pool those applications until after the deadline to determine how many students they can admit.
Has anyone gotten a response after the new system was installed? if so, does the app page update or do we just get a written response?
