UF Transfer from MIT

I have been considering transferring from MIT to UF. First off, would it be possible, since I haven't been at MIT for two years? I have enough AP credits to reach the 45 credit limit UF has, and at the time of the transfer I'll have enough credits from MIT to reach that 60 credit hour limit, but will UF count those AP credits towards that rule? Also, are transfer applications binding? Like, if I apply for a transfer and I get in, do I now have no choice but to go to UF? Thanks for any help you give me!

Why do you want to transfer from MIT to UF?

I’m not sure if I do yet. But it’s a weather thing and a money thing. And kind of a life thing, I hear a lot that people aren’t too happy at MIT, even if it is an incredible school

Dont do it

I think it may be possible. I was just at orientation for transfer students and there was a girl who was transferring from Vanderbilt. She said she was transferring in as as a sophomore. I don’t know how it works so you should probably contact the school. At UF’s website it makes it sound like you can only transfer if you have 60 credit hours and all the pre-reqs for the intended major you wish to be when accepted, so I don’t know how they let this girl in. Contact the school to know for sure. Also, no, applying isn’t binding. You don’t have to go if you get accepted.

These are all questions to to ask admissions. Call them.

My son almost went to MIT he was accepted. But after he visited he decided against it. There is no doubt that MIT is the best engineering school in the Nation. But a student has to live there for 4 or 5 years and if he or she is not happy with your life? It is time to make a move.

I wish the best in whatever you decide to do.
