UF Transfer- how important is the letter of intent?

So, I'm filling out my transfer application for UF and found that I have to answer two short, 200-word questions. They are along the lines of:

What skills do I hope to attain from my major and how will I apply them when I graduate?
I'm not sure how to answer this question. I want to major in accounting so I can become an accountant and attain a job with good security and above average pay. I don't what else to say. Should I bull **** and claim that I have a passion for learning about debits and credits?

What other information about myself can be provided that pertains to my degree program (work, research, etc.).
I have nearly no experience in anything accounting related at all. I'm not heavy in activities but I may write about my time as a member of the Ethics society. I also had a summer job last year counting money for a theme park, which is somewhat accounting related.

Anyways, are these important enough that I should spend several hours agonizing over my responses? Or are they really not that big of a deal?

The colleges mostly use courses and grades to make a decision - give them something concise but coherent about why the major interests you.

These are probably not as important as your GPA and courses you’ve taken but I would take the time to write a response that you would respect. You don’t have to strive for perfection but at least make it seem like you put some effort in. I understand how you feel, when I wrote my responses I felt as if I was writing a lot for something I could explain in two sentences. Just make sure they know that you really are interested in your field of study, that you have passion. Perhaps include places you would like to work with in the future and reasons why you love accounting.
