transfer essay help

I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers for the second letter of intent in the transfer application. The essay is: "Please provide any other information about yourself that you feel will help this college make an admission decision. This may include work, research, volunteer activities or other experiences pertaining to the degree program.". I am really stumped in terms of what to write about. I have not been involved in many activities outside of regular classes at my current university, so I was wondering what other kinds of topics would be relevant.

Well if you haven’t done any activities outside of school that relate to your major, perhaps you could write about an experience that made you realize the career you want to pursue is perfect for you. Notice that the question is really broad, and allows you to talk about personal experiences that PERTAIN TO YOUR DEGREE PROGRAM.

To give you an idea, I applied to the aerospace engineering school and wrote about how working in an aircraft company made me realize how dynamic and innovative the industry truly is. Of course I wrote a whole bunch of bs since working in a warehouse surrounded by old aircraft parts did not lead me to any epiphanies.

If you really don’t have anything to write about, then lie! All great works of fiction are fabrications. hahaha

How would it sound if I did not write about something pertaining to the degree program. For example if I wrote about how I like spending time doing my favorite hobby. Would that appear off topic?

Well I hope that hobby “will help this college make an admission decision” and not be completely irrelevant. You don’t want to show them that you can’t stay on topic in your admission essay.

Gotcha. Yea, that is what I was worried about. Thanks for the input.
