UF vs FIT

ok so i know both of these universities are top of the line when its comes to engineering in the state, but witch one it actually better and why?. My guess is that FIT would be better for engineering, because its an engineering school but a lot of people say that UF is extremely good for that. so witch would be better for (engineering) UF or FIT?

Two very different schools; large state flagship university vs. small private (about 3,000 undergrads) school.

Putting aside all of the positives and negatives between a large state university and a small private; UF has the higher ranked (and much larger) engineering program.

If you’re in-state, and you can get into UF(UF is much more selective), it’s almost always the best option. If you’re OOS, then FIT could be a better financial option (UF OOS tuition vs. FIT tuition + grants + scholarships).

FIT actually gives a lot of aid. There is merit money of $14000 to $21000, plus $1000 for visiting. A Florida resident will also get $2500 FRAG grant and you can use Bright Futures and Prepaid (which of course you can use at UF too).

My daughter got an athletic scholarship too so the price is actually much lower than UF would be (she’d wouldn’t have made the UF team) and there are other scholarships available too.
