UF vs FSU Honors Legal Scholars program?

I know it'll be a little hard for you guys to be unbiased, since this is the UF forum. But, is it worth it for me to go to UF or should I got to FSU since I got into their honors program and the honors legal scholars program? (Link explaining the program: http://honors.fsu.edu/legal.html) I got an email saying that if I kept a 3.6 in college and a 162 on the LSAT, I would be auto admitted into its law school. I know UF is more prestigious and I really, really like it and the campus, but FSU is offering me a law school acceptance and internship opportunities since it is the state capital and location of state government. I'm not sure I would be nearly as happy there. For me, it is a bit of a step down, but my parents say it has way more opportunities for me there. Any advice?

The median LSAT score at UF and FSU is 162, and the GPA at UF is 3.64 while it’s a 3.47 at FSU. The auto admit is nice (a lot less stressful), but you’re likely competitive at either school with a 162/3.6. Based on recent trends, Law schools are having a hard time recruiting students, so that should make it easier to get accepted at either of these schools.

UF’s law school has been recently struggling. To the point that FSU’s recently placed ahead of it in the US News ranking. So pay attention to how UF deals with it’s law school, over the next 4 years and take that into account when applying.

Of course, you can still get internships in the state capital, while going to school at UF. You can also apply to both law schools, no matter which one you attend for undergrad. Even in the auto admit program, you could still apply to UF.

I know I’m not being very helpful, but I would think you should go with the best “FIT”. Which one do you want to attend (at this point, you have a pretty good idea about the schools)? Both will give you the opportunities you need to succeed.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you so much, @Gator88NE ! I always look forward to your responses in this forum, since you always have the best UF news and advice. I decided that I’m going to be a gator because, ultimately, it was where I felt the most at home and where I felt a real connection. I have visited UF so many times, so I know the campus pretty well, and it feels so comfortable. Wooo! Go Gators!
