I attended FSU and had friends that went to UF and hung out with them on game days. I think Tallahassee is prettier (hills, trees, old architecture), but Gainesville is cleaner and more modern. Both campuses are similar, although, I preferred FSU’s since it was smaller and more walkable. You never need to take the bus at FSU. If you go to FSU, don’t major in ICT. It’s not an established field. I’d go for IT instead. IT isn’t offered at UF. If you choose to go for an MIS, UF’s business school is ranked more highly. FSU plans to build a new, state of the art business school in downtown Tallahassee, but it’s still years away.
I am also a senior deciding between these two schools. I have only visited UF but am visiting both soon. However, unless I fall in love with Fsu, I am confident I will attend UF. My first tour at UF was a different experience than your though. I fell in love with the school and really liked it. However, I am giving Fsu a fair shot. Good luck!
I’m one of those folks that think faculty to student ratios do matter to some extent. It’s not so much that your classes are smaller, it’s that you’ll end up having a wider selection of courses (and electives) to choose from, since their are more faculty members available to teach classes/sections. More faculty, means more options; more areas to specialize in, more choices of minors, etc.
UF purchased Leonardo’s By The Slice (next to campus), so it’s schedule to close down around summer 2017. Get your slice now!
I’ve been to both and FSU has a gorgeous campus… it was just ranked in the top 50 as the most beautiful campus 's in the country, it ranked 43… UF was not in it… UF is huge, you need a scooter or take the bus to get around…
UF is a large campus. But your classes (major) are confined to smaller portions of it. It is actually very well defined.
Believe me, walking and/or a bike will serve you well for transportation.
To add To tithe above, all business classes are in the northeast corner of campus grouped together.
