Guys, I basically go to school off of financial aid money I’m an independent and help form family isn’t an option and I can’t afford to pay for my tution at the moment. Basically financial aid will only cover up to my 60 credits for my AA and I can reasonably get in about 70 credits if I take an extra class each semester and with a Pell Grant it’ll be affordable. But I also only took high school French 1 so I have to have roughly 73 credits finished to have all my prerequisites done for engineering and my Gen Ed courses done for my AA. (I have 14 credits this summer, 19 for fall and 14 with spring (that’s all I can afford for spring semester due to financial aid only covering 8 credits because those are the last of my Gen eds for my AA)) But I can’t work out a way to be able to afford to pay for Differential Equations next spring. Will UF’s engineering program still accept me even without Differential Equations as long as a I take my first semester there or what? Can you give me some insight on what might happen or some advice on what to do? (Yes I know UF has some competitive engineering programs that’s not what I need advice with) thanks for any help or advice.
It’s listed as a requirement, however, you should talk to your advisor in your college/major. Some majors may be willing to accept you without having Diff Eq completed. You may end up being conditionally accepted into UF, but having to take Diff Eq over the summer in CC, and start UF in the Fall.
The advisors at my college aren’t the greatest I even explained to them that there were an error because according to them I’ve met my foreign language requirement but I have not according to other schools I’ve talked to and they basically just brushed it off as a don’t worry about it.
Financial aid is really confusing when you’re nearing an end of an AA degree but still need prerequisites for your major
