Hey there, so I’ll be attending UF in the summer yet I’m still very divided between these two majors. Which one is worth the effort and is more highly ranked in terms of job selection and overall post graduate salary?
Business is higher “ranked” (and more selective) at UF, but CS majors have one of the highest starting salaries of any major (CS is currently a hot major). Take some programing, calc, physics, chem, and business classes your first year, and then decide on your major.
You can also major in one and take a minor in the other. UF offers a minor in CS (via the College of Engineering) and (in the School of Business) a minor in Business, Entrepreneurship, Info Systems, Real Estate, Retailing and Accounting.
Either way, UF is very flexible in allowing you to switch majors in your first year or two.
Good Luck!
Ultimately what is it that you want to do? Depending what your career goal would be would determine your major. But granted I know many people who have crossed back and forth with tech and finance. One went into finance then went into tech, vise versa.
I think that in the end, the salaries are pretty comparable in the long term - I would recommend deciding based off this - go with what you find more interesting as a career. Basically, do what @Gator88NE suggested IMO
Hmm yeah thanks for the reply, I’m very savy with technology and entry programming stuff already so I’m most likely going with Computer Science, but yeah I’ve always liked the business side of things too (trying to get rich also lol), but yeah I’ll explore around for the first year or so.

Both options will get you enough to live a happy and plentiful life. Besides, money is overrated!
