I am stuck between an economics, finance, or computer science major. What are the pros and cons of each and which has the best job prospects in the future.

It partially depends where you are going to school. Computer Science tends to pay more starting salary but tends to have less upside. Engineering majors such as computer science are generally “safer.”

Personally, if I attended a very good school I would major in Econ or Finance but a computer science major would probably be a wiser choice at a “subpar” school. In reality though, you really just need to figure out what you want to do. Computer Science is completely different than the other two.

I would choose econ no matter what.

I hope to attend UVA. Why would you choose economics? What upsides does Computer Science lack? If I planned on obtaining an MBA a few years out of college would you recomend an economics or finance major.

If you go to UVA, choose finance, hands down. They have an amazing b-school and a finance degree will open more doors than a comp science or economics degree from the same school.

Would it be worth going for a double major?

No. I agree with previous poster about majoring in Finance at UVA.
