Hey so I’m going to UGA next year and I’m considering the double dawgs program in microbiology and public health. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in this program or another double dawgs program. How manageable is the course load? Do you have time for the whole “college experience” as well? Thanks!
Hey, you may want to post your message/question in the UGA forum!

My son has been deferred but if accepted he is 100% planning to enter the Double Dawg program to obtain his MBA in Finance. Can’t answer your questions, but it is a great program.
Babydawg2023 you will need to apply to the program after you have established a fairly high GPA, of about 3.7, in your coursework if you want to be considered. Hence, you will need to complete at few semesters of coursework first to prove that you can handle the rigor. I suggest that you speak to your advisor about the requirements. My D is a first year student (with almost 4th year status) pursuing a double major at UGA and was recently admitted to the program in Terry. She will begin taking at least one masters level class in the fall. Congrats and good luck on your admission to UGA.
You really need a lot of credit coming in to do it in 4 years. And you need to start talking to your advisors almost from day one to make sure you plan well.
Note that the double dawgs program is in a bit of flux right now. I believe they are working to straighten it out and get it back under the honors program umbrella to centralize the process.
