UGA EA

I don’t know if I’ll be accepted or deferred because my unweighted GPA is pretty low (obviously above a 3.0 but nowhere close to 4.0) but my weighted and SAT score is pretty good as are my extracurriculars and essays. I’m in IB which is a big factor as to why my unweighted is low, but my IB weighted is 5.5 and I’ve gotten 4s and 5s on all of my APs. My SAT is also a 1350, with a 760 in English. I’m OOS (from Florida) and a white female so I don’t know how that will calculate.

@gilliangrace Your AP scores sound good. I wouldn’t worry so much about your GPA if you’re IB, but you SAT Math score is a little low if it’s 590. JMO.

Facebook just suggested “UGA Parents” as a group for me to join. Hmmm - is Zuckerburg THAT good? Guess I’ll know in just over 2 hours . . .

Definitely easier for my kids living on the other side of the country compared to my nieces and nephews on the Northside of Atlanta.

Will they release at 4:00 EST? I think that’s when AO closes.

We’re thinking we may be denied or deferred. Just calculated daughters UGA GPA according to the blog she has 4.0. Her regular gpa is 4.42 weighted and 3.81 unweighted. But her SAT is not great at 1310. Hopefully we will know in about 40 minutes. Really wish schools did not weigh the standardized tests so highly. The waiting game…

Please let me know how it goes! I am complete opposite- 4.1 UGA GPA, 1190 SAT. Don’t know what is weighted more, unfortunately! Great ECs, but of course those arent looked at just yet. Good luck!

@Finalchildof3 Good luck! UGA on the blog says they weigh GPA more than standardized tests because they put more value in performance over 4 years than 3 hours on a Saturday. Makes perfect sense to me!

She just got an email…deferred. So check your emails and good luck!

Same here. Bummer, but my sister was deferred in 2018 and then got accepted! Same stats as me, so i think we both have a shot! Good luck!

DD was accepted!!
