I am currently a senior in high school deciding between Auburn and UGA. Does anyone have any opinions on either the UGA or Auburn programs.
Auburn has a well established (and well recruited) engineering program. UGA has always had a decent Agricultural/Biological engineering program, but it’s only recently started to expand it’s engineering program to include several other majors.
If I was a Georgia resident, and didn’t get accepted into GT (or, being a life long Bulldog, there was no chance in $%^& that I would attend GT), then UGA would be an option worth considering. Especially when you consider the in-state Georgia scholarships.
Otherwise Auburn has the better program.
@Gator88NE I am an instate student for UGA and I was denied from Georgia Tech sadly. I do like UGA as a whole, but the engineering college does give me some doubts. As for out-of-state costs, I am getting the top out of state freshman scholorship from Auburn which brings the cost down some but I am still waiting on news for other scholarships. I’m just not sure if UGA’s computer engineering (that’s what I would like to major in) is worth it or I should try Auburn since I love Auburn’s engineering college and I will be in their honors college.
That’s a hard call to make, but I’m sure either option will work out for you.
Have you visited UGA or better yet, attended on of the College of Engineering information sessions? One’s coming up on Feb 22nd.

Review UGA’s curriculum and compare it to Auburn’s.

If you do go to an UGA engineering session, ask about recruiting by employers, and future plans.
Of course, Auburn also has engineering info sessions (a LOT of them)…
Good Luck!
Thank you for the information on the curriculum. Hopefully it will help with my decision.
