UGA Math Placement Exam

Hey guys. So I took the Math Placement Exam and I was two points away from getting out of Pre-Calc. I was told by another student that if I spoke to my advisor about still wanting to be placed in Calculus she could do it. I don’t know if I should do that or not because I was two points away but is that still a big difference? I took IB Math Studies SL in high school which is a pre-calc course and I took Calculus my senior year. Please help!

You should contact your advisor and ask. It couldn’t hurt. He or she can give you the override if they so choose. My DD contacted hers about taking a Stats class since she made a 5 on the AP Stats exam and a 5 on the Calc exam. They were kind but firm in letting her know that she could not move on until she had taken at least one UGA math class. She was frustrated and asked 3 different people. Everyone was super nice and helpful, but she still did not get the answer she wanted.
