Yes, so that only leaves 10 days to buy airline tickets and hotel. Not much timeā€¦ I suppose you can reserve hotel now and cancel but not airline tickets.

whatā€™s the chance of deferred ea students hearing this fridayā€¦ slim and none?

Hereā€™s what Dr. Graves said about that in the UGA Admissions Blog (in the comments from Jan 26 post):

ā€œAs stated in the last paragraph, we expect the February wave to be almost all RD applicants due to the fact that these students would have been admitted in EA if they had applied in that round. The usual exceptions to this issue are when there is an incomplete EA applicant that is now complete and would have been admitted in EA, or occasionally an issue with a school changing grading policies/grading scales and not letting us know until after EA decisions. As such, I expect almost all deferred EA will hear in March.ā€

key word: ā€œalmost allā€ Iā€™ll still have my little hope for friday

Iā€™m hoping for you too!

Good luck to anyone hoping to hear on Friday. I donā€™t think my daughter falls into that category so we will be hanging around until March!

If anyone receives an acceptance today please post here with stats if you donā€™t mind. Would be great to understand the profile of students getting February admissions vs rest of us likely hearing back in March. Thanks!

Hi. Yes, my daughter is still in school but she has two emails. First is for admission (letting her open) The second is for housing and setting up a U of Georgia ID to be used for next four years.

So, I assume its a yes.

Sheā€™s been deferred everywhere else so this will be a nice change.

Stats:
4.7 GPA but 4/36 Georgia GPA
1490 SAT
14 APā€™s.
She didnā€™t submit AP test scores (4ā€™s).

Thanks. That is helpful. So looks like a March 18th decision date for those of us who have not been notified. Saves us from refreshing the application portal today!

If she thinks Georgia is an option go ahead and fill out the housing and pay the $35. Your housing priority is driven by when you fill that out. Congrats to your daughter! I have a freshman at UGA and even though it was not where he thought he wanted to end up he absolutely loves it!

Thank you. That is so helpful to know. Started as a Safety but now one of her top choices. We toured and went to a UGA Football game and loved everything about it.

UGA is filled with a lot of smart kids. Even though my kid got in early and was high stat (3.98 UW, 35 ACT) and we are in-state, we still didnā€™t put it as a safety. It is not an easy admit!

It has really been a wonderful place for him. Great balance of academics and social life. His grades are great and he is having a lot of fun  he is truly living his best life!

Is anybody hearing anything other than March 18th for decision date?
