Ughh, horrible semester...

Hey guys, I was wondering how this will affect me in the admissions process to top schools.

1st sem sophomore year g.p.a : 3.57 U.W
Span2 A
P.E A
h precalc B
ap Euro A
ap Bio B
ap Comp B
Eng A

2nd sem sophomore year g.p.a 4.0 U.W
Span2 A
h precalc A
ap Euro A
ap Bio A
ap Comp A
Eng A

Euro: 5
Bio : 5
Comp: 5

Math IIC: 800
Biology M: 800

I have a 4.0 U.W all my other years so that wont be a problem. I am hoping my ap exams and Sat II show that i knew the material, but my grades went from 6 A's 1 B be4 finals to 4 A's, 3 B's after finals due to some family member deaths the weekend before finals which hit me pretty hard... Should i have my counselor mention something and if so, how should i approach her? or should i just leave it alone? I am just pretty upset that my g.p.a dropped so much in one week and will admission officers look pass one semester? I also managed a 89%'s still in math and comp sci by the end but my teachers didnt give me the A's. =/

How much of an impact will this be overall? :[

A drop in grades for a single semester is not an issue, and three B’s isn’t admission-killing. You lose a foothold in the more prestigious schools, but as long as you maintain your grades through 11th-12th grade, you should be fine.
You will just need really impressive extracurriculars/awards. Which, to get into Harvard, was a given anyway.

^ Do you think i should talk to my counselor about mentioning it or something on college apps?

Sorry if I came out snobbish in any way, I just get really frustrated when I feel like I failed myself. ._. Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it.
