UGS 302 Signature Course

What is UGS 302, the "Signature Course"?

Is it just a blowoff class

Are you going to be an internal transfer (I saw your other post)? UGS is NOT a blow-off class (or so I’ve heard). If you don’t have good writing skills and time management, you could do very badly.

It depends entirely on the course and the professor. But I think it’s safe to say that, in general, the course load is pretty light. I’ve heard of a couple that were really time-consuming and awful (Creative Problem Solving, Sustaining a Planet), but in mine, we literally had no tests or quizzes or homework or anything, just two easily BS-able 5 page papers, a short presentation and a 7-8ish page paper in lieu of a final (which we had like two months to do). I did absolutely nothing for the class when there wasn’t a paper due - there was no reason for me to do even the reading because my professor didn’t do reading verification quizzes. The subject matter was VERY interesting, though.

JammyD: yeah i wanna internal transfer but regardless most majors requre me to take this so i was just wondering… thanks

buriedalie: which ugs did you take?
