For those of you who have taken their required UGS course, do you recommend 302 or 303? Which courses did you take and found it interesting and enjoyable?

Dont mean to hijack this but what is UGS?

A signature course all freshman are required to take first semester.

Actually they are available second semester too, and according to FIG webpage some FIGs have UGS, some don’t. I guess you have to take it the first year.

Whoops, meant first year*
The exception being transfer students, I believe.

Why is registration for almost all UGS classes already closed? UGS is supposed to be a freshmen class.

Take the 302 course, if possible. Before you graduate, you need to acquire a certain amount of “writing flags”. The 302 course has one, but the 303 course does not.

The UGS classes are probably closed exactly because they’re supposed to be for incoming freshmen. The rest of the university is going through registration right now, so temporarily closing the class prevents current students from registering in the course. They will open up in the summer.
