Is it true that they ran out of housing for freshman!?! What are they gonna do then? I heard that theyre turning lounges into rooms?!?

yep. and forcing some doubles in triples, triples into quads, and quads into quints.

oo, no wonder why some of the TAs i asked about quints didnt know what i was talking about :)

Don't hate on Cornell cause it is popular.

walking on black ice: TAKE NOTE---WALK ON THE SNOW INSTEAD OF THE ICY SIDEWALK!!! one afternoon, we saw over 20 people slipping and falling...caught it on tape too! haha funniest afternoon EVER

hahaha, agbm, you're awesome.

but seriously, the townhouses are very nice. and so are all the dorms. cornell isn't a huge state school, and they care a lot about your quality of life. so there's nothing awful about any of the housing. and it's college, people, be flexible. anyway you're only gonna be there for one year.

and correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think you're allowed to not have a meal plan if you live in the townhouses. either way, cornell food is delicious (and cheap compared to other schools who offer a similar quality of dining). So eat up when you're there.

What mealplan do you recommend for those living in townhouses?

the meal plan is entirely upon how many times you think you will be eating or would like to be eating per week.

There is the range from 7 meals per week and 500 BRB's (Big Red Bucks, basically cash for a la carte places), to 10 meals and 500, to 14 meals and 500, to unlimited meals and 300 BRB's.

The meals are applicable at 10 dining halls, for an all you can eat meal.

So if you are the type who absolutely will eat breakfast and lunch every day, you might want 14 meals per week to cover that, and use your $500 BRB's to pay for dinner and snacks. Most people, according to their personal experience, usually say 10-14 is enough, and unlimited is definitely overkill.

you don't have to have a meal plan in the townhouses...one of my friends did all of her own cooking. i definitely wouldn't recommend that though.

i'm not planning on getting a mealplan just because i can never eat much
but i think i can still buy meals at the dining halls with cash or a debit card.

it's a better deal to go for the 7 meals and 500 big red bux...

unless you have a mini fridge and can survive on non-hot meals then i'd get a meal plan
