My D liked living in the townhouses. There was a lot of room, a bathroom shared by only a few and cleaned every week. She easily got to central by bus. She became very good friends with other townhouse residents. Actually, she never said anything bad about the experience. I, as a mom, thought it was much better than a small dorm room. It was much more comfortable.

Do not worry, you will meet people. You will not be isolated.

Are there study lounges? Also are the houses two floors or it varies? For those that are 2 floors, is the setup the same on both floors; kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom all on each floor?

wow. im in a townhouse for this year and you guys are ridiculous. maybe it is a 90 minute walk if you are a one-legged turtle, but for normal people it is an enjoyable walk. plus it is mostly downhill to central campus, so seriously people, suck it up.

there are far worse things in this life that actually merit complaint.

You're kidding... right? The townhouses are brown?? If you are worried about a walk, as I said before, there are buses that run regularly. Are you afraid of public transit? If you are not used to it, then I would think walking would not be a problem. Also, there are taxis. I understand students use them all of the time, especially at night coming back from a party.

I agree w/ dande... "there are far worse things..."

Maybe the wealthier students do. But seriously. Nothing at Cornell is more than a twenty minute walk from anything else. Even the Commons from North Campus is maybe a 35 minute walk.
