I realize that it's far too late to change anything now, but I just realized that I never included an explanation for a particularly low grade I received in the first semester of my junior year.

Some background: At the start of junior year, I transferred into a very academically rigorous international school and was placed into the highest level math class, IB Math HL. However, I found myself significantly behind my classmates because I had not covered much of the material they had in previous classes (due to the much lower difficulty levels of the mathematics in my old schools, particularly in the US). The first semester, I had difficulty adjusting and keeping up, and received a B- : the lowest grade I've ever received on a quarter or semester report card. I managed to pull it up to a B in the second semester.

At the end of junior year, I transferred into AP Calculus BC, and currently am maintaining a steady A average. I also received 800's on both my SAT I Math section and SAT II Math II.

I'm hoping this will prove to Yale that I'm not bad at math. Will the B- hurt my chances of acceptance significantly, since I didn't provide any explanation for it in my app? Also, since I applied early, they don't know that I currently have an A in AP Calc BC.. I'd appreciate any input/advice you guys could give!

Thanks!
(Also, if you think it'd be relevant, the rest of my stats/EC's and everything is in another thread titled "Looking for Chances!")
