UIC-GPPA.

how do interviews work there? if you get an interview from UIC, does that mean you're pretty much in? a lot of people have told me that if you get an interview, you are pretty much into the program...i was just wondering if that was true/

did anyone get an interview yet?

i know a lot of people who have gotten interviews and they heard that an interview from gppa means that you pretty much got into the program. is that true?

what does uic gppa stand for?

University of Illinois at Chicago Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions

apparently they are trying to make the program more competitive this year...they are going to have 2 interviews...and try to accept around 30 people

30 out of how many?

i think 13 out of the 80-85 students selected for the first interview was from my school (Illinois Math and Science Academy) ..

I know of 5 from my school who got called back for the second one (about 40 students in all).. i wasn't one of them tho.. =( oh well, not meant to be.. if you get called back for the second interview, u basically got it.. unless u completely kill ur second interview..

the dean we met during the first interview said they may take up to 45 (like last year) ... i believe there were over 300 applicants or something...

Imsa Pride Baby!!

When are the letters mailed out by UIC GPPA. Do they come by snail mail, or do they send you an e-mail.? Any info on this subject will be appreciated.

i called the admissions office like two weeks ago, and one of the counselors called me back last monday or tuesday.. he said that the letters were gonna be sent some time during the week, so im guessing they should arrive some time this week... uic is really slow with these things.. i got my letter for undergraduate and honors on the same day, only a day before i got my gppa interview #1 letter..

GPPA admission acceptances/rejection letters are in the mail box now.

did anyone here get into uic gppa?

I got in!!!!!!!! found out thursday

Is GPPA Medicine a 7-year or 8-year program?? I could've sworn that it was a 7-year direct admit but today I learned it was apparently an 8-year-program. Has it always been 8 years??

Has anyone heard of the University of Illinois's GPPA program? It guarantees admission into their med. school but you still have to take the MCAT. Does anyone know how competitive it is and whether or not they turn out good doctors?

I never heard of that program. So I cant really help answer your question sorry

Hey cooldude1818, congrats on getting in! What were your stats and ec's etc?

That's probably because UIC's GPPA Medicine and Dentistry programs are for Illinois residents only.

GPPA is a pretty good program, and it is affiliated with good hospitals as well. And as for competitiveness, GPPA is like all other direct-admit med programs; it's very competitive. I believe they have two rounds of interviews (apparently it used to be only one).

for anyone applying to the pre-med program at UIC
(known as GPPA)
list your stats, and exchange info. here!
