UIUC engineering?

Looking for any input on my chances on getting into Illinois for chemE.
ACT 34
GPA: 5.06 on a weighted 4 pt scale
6 APs by end of senior year, including calc bc, stats, bio, and chem
Class rank: 6/198
In-state and both my parents went there, though I don’t think that will do anything for me
My ECs aren’t great…
Club volleyball for 5 years
High school volleyball all four years
Math team all four
One mission trip to Wisconsin
Coaching youth volleyball two years
Also working for my dad’s business for three summers

Thanks!

What is your uwGPA?
For ChemE (actually ChBE) at LAS of UIUC, your ACT is near the 75th percentile. It should be a low match for in state and high match for OOS if your uwGPA is higher than their admission rate of ~3.9.

My uwGPA is around 4.4 I think.

You have a very good chance of getting in! Keep up the great work!

@azdrew11 uwGPA means in 4.0 max scale.

I wouldn’t know how to find my GPA on a 4.0 max scale because my schools grading system is different than most schools

So you cannot convert to letter grades?

A 4.4 uwGPA at my school means that in all of my classes my average grade is a 96%

Do you have any grade below 91%? If you have all grades at 96% (not just average), then you are likely 4.0 in 4.0 scale.

Jeez Louise. Why can’t all schools stick to the same grading scales? I think all these 6.0+ GPA’s and 5.0 UW GPA’s are plain stupid.

Anyway, I think UIUC is a match for you.
