Hi, I have a question. I hope to go to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and go into their business school. I know that their accounting program is highly regarded and one of the top undergrad programs in the nation. But, is their finance program still highly regarded and heavily recruited? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

bump!!!

Bump…come on doesn’t anyone have any info. on this…or even just personal opinions would be great!

Of course it is heavily recruited! Accounting and finance programs usually go hand in hand. If a university has a good accounting program, it most probably will have a great finance program too. For instance, look at Wharton, Stern, or Hass–their accounting/finance programs are all in the top ten. Obviously they are the top business schools, but still, it is very rare when a university has only one program at which it is good at, and other programs suck completely.

Thanks tosh. Does that mean that I would still have a chance of breaking into IB out of UIUC? I know it is extremely hard to get into but just wondering if I would have a good chance with solid grades and good networking?

It depends on how you define “heavily recruited” they are a solid semi-target school and if you rock a strong gpa and network like a ninja you’ll land interviews then it’s all up to you.
