I am currently a student in Purdue university and i just finished my first year of study in accouting major but after i found out my interest in business isn't really accouting and Purdue doesn't offer a good finance major or programs i plan to tansfer out of purdue after next semster

So here are my questions, is UIUC's Finance major better of IU's? which is cheaper as outstater? My GPA overall is 3.17 and 3.4 for last sem do i have a shot for either of these schools? If i transfer, do they check my SAT score and just looking my college scores?

I know i post this thread in other section as well im sorry admin and i need the answer fast pls dont delete this.
Thanks

i think you have a fair chance at UIUC, and a better shot at IU

Both of the finance programs are highly ranked. Indiana's has ranked around 7th most years and Illinois' is around 11th or so. (My son is currently majoring in finance at Indiana Univ).

Illinois is the higher ranked of the two schools overall this year (Indiana was higher ranked last year)--but the main reason Illinois ranks high is because of their accounting program which ranks #1 or #2 (it's them and Texas in the top two spots) every year. If you aren't planning on majoring in accounting, you'd probably be better off at Indiana.

As far as costs for OOS students:

OOS tuition at Illinois is normally $21,000 per year, but unfortunately is $26,000 per year for business majors.

OOS tuition at Indiana is $22,316 this coming year. Once you are admitted to the business school that goes up by $1,000 per year.

Best of luck with whichever school you pick.

i'd go to illionois.

indiana is ridiculously overrated.

Surely you were going to provide some evidence after putting that statement out there...
