UIUC visiting

I'm an incoming freshman, and I haven't visited UIUC yet..
So I just wanted to visit in June before school starts in August.
What's the visiting program like? What do you do there?
Any advice?

Are you aware that you need to do a summer registration session at UIUC at which you register for classes and get a huge amount of information? In other words, why are you not reserving a date for that in June so you also have a visit. Anything else in June would just be the usual tour for students who might apply next fall – you get some basic info on the university, a tour around the campus and possibly meet some students or administrators/faculty from the college/department you might be interested in; see description here: [U</a> of I Admissions: Visit Illinois](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions).

I had to sign up for a remote registration because I’m not going to be in the US in July~early August.
So I won’t be visiting the campus for that…

But summer registration dates for freshman begin June 6 and run daily through the week. Thus, if you are going in June why not try to get one of the June days.

June registration dates weren’t available when I signed up. But now it seems like they added new June dates. So I signed up again with a new date. I wouldn’t have checked if you didn’t mention it – thank you.
What do you exactly do at a summer registration? As far as I know, you just get to talk to a counselor and sign up for classes. But I saw people on UIUC’s Facebook page looking for other people who have it on the same day. I don’t understand what the point is. And are parents involved, too, or not?

Here is the general outline: [U</a> of I Admissions: Summer Registration](http://admissions.illinois.edu/summerregistration/index.html#what)

Parents can come and attend the lectures/presentations on the university in general and its services (security, health, recreation, busses, dorms, etc., etc.) However, having parents there is not a necessity. Students will meet alone with a counselor and then register for classes via computers available at UIUC. You can obviously meet other students because there will be many others there doing the same things you are.
