Since I have a myriad of deliberate plans during summer breaks, I am sort of careful about selecting the date of orientation at UIUC. I assume the orientation starts on June 6 - July 14. So, I may visit UIUC on June 7th, two days after my high school graduation. I am also planning to have an audition for Jazz Band or University Band. Briefly, when we register our information on August 14-17, as the backside of your acceptance letter indicates, are we going to be able to live in a dorm at the day of registration?

No this year you don't live in a dorm. It is a single day plan. You start off in the parking lot and are bused to the Union and go to info sessions and register all in the same day. Therefore I highly suggest going early to know your way around and having your courses picked out ahead of time to save your registration advisor and yourself a lot of headaches. If you are going later, scheduling will be much harder than if you had gone earlier. U of I spilts up discussions and lecture and labs so if a lecture is open that doesn't necessarily mean discussions will be.

By the way I am going to be an Orientation Student Leader this summer and have any inside information you may need about it or the university itself so if you have any questions ask away b/c I want to be prepared for the summer. Any questions you feel you might ask someone at Registration or elsewhere are free here from info on classes to controversial subjects (the Chief).
