Considering only these three factors, in order of importance:
1) Recruiting into i-banking and/or other entry-level finance positions
2) Strength of specific academic program(s)
3) Overall reputation of, and academics at, school

Which would you choose?
A) DePaul- Double major Finance and Econ (currently sophomore 3.9/4.0 GPA)
OR transfer to:
B) UIUC- Econ only
C) IU-Bloom-Kelley- Finance only

P.S. Obviously there are other additional factors than three listed above, but I was interested most in opinions on this particular scenario. Thanks.

why would you only do econ. at U of I?

Uiuc wont let you do anything outside las college if your doing econ, pol. science is a good option for a minor, either way, its between uiuc and kelly, your starting salary will be higher for kelly finance major, $52,000 average, uiuc econ average is around $45,000 but it wont matter much if your going to get an MBA anyways. Uiuc looks better on applications to graduate school but i banking recruiting is better at kelly. Though if you go to uiuc, you can still get a good entry level finance position, i banks don't prefer finance or econ more than the other as long as you have a good gpa like 3.5 at least.

Thank you if you had replied. However, I have posted a new thread on this forum that is more appropraite and applicable to my current situation entitled "Should I choose UIUC, or another school." Please ignore this thread, and post in the other if you would like.

Stay at DePaul it’s a great school and you already have a great gpa. stay there its an awesome school and the business school is in the loop the financial district in chicago one of the best commerce cities in the world

The OP is already at UIUC (old thread bump …I presume). If I had the chance to post before the OP enrolled in UIUC, I would have suggested him to transfer into Indiana. UIUC is a great place but…Economics is not that reputable compared to the College of Business (UIUC) or Bloomington’s Finance.
