UIUC vs. other midwest schools

so i am currently deciding between UIUC, U wisconsin madison, and purdue university

i'm looking towards engineering, so UIUC seems the better of the three, but i also want to go to a school where i'll enjoy my time.

preferably i'd like to go to a school with an existent asian population so i don't become completely whitewashed by the time i graduate.

and i actually don't know much about any of these schools.

if i could get some input as to what you guy's think that'd be great.
thanks

Well I can't speak for UW, but Purdue and UIUC both have large Asian populations, especially in the engineering areas. Personally, I am a senior at UIUC in mechanical engineering, and I love it here. It is also a fairly diverse population in the department (though less so than the likes of ECE).

I chose this place over Purdue and Wisconsin, seriously I believe everyone who got into engineering at UIUC got into Purdue as well, and I have never seen anyone who chose purdue over UIUC for engineering (There might be though). There are ALOT of Asians here, especially Koreans.

Technically, Purdue is better than UIUC at aerospace engineering, though that is arguable. Personally, while I feel UIUC is the better school, it is not by much, and you will get a great education regardless of which one you pick. Go visit them and pick the one at which you feel most at home.
