I need inputs on what school i should attend for civil engineering

I live in PA.

What are the benefits to attending each of these schools?
Is it really worth 200k for 4 years at CMU compared to like 60K for PSU or 100k for Illinois?
Tell me what you like and dislike about the school if you attend one of these.

no! go to psu … and do very well.

uiuc is good … even great. but not worth 100 k over psu. cmu is rather geeky compared to psu and uiuc. it’s smaller and students are rather one-dimensional compared to other two.

^ When you compare civil and other engineering programs, it’s worth it.

UIUC is a top ten engineering school. The Civil Engineering program bounces between being ranked first and second in the nation. Penn State is a highly ranked Engineering School, coming in 23rd on US news and world reports rankings of best engineering schools. UIUC is 6th overall. Is the difference worth the price? You need to make that decision.
