Uk Student Applying for admmition for the U.S.'s Universities

<p>Hey everyone, i'm currently on the process of applying for admission at 3 different Universities in the United States... These include NYU, SFU, South University and Adelphi University...
I have lived in UK for 7yrs and have studied here since i was 10. I did my GCSEs here and i'm now at a further education college studying A-Levels which will last for 2 years, in other words, i will finish college in two years.
I had a few questions, in order for me to get admitted to a university in USA,i have to do an early application (18 months before admittion) so that i can start attending university as soon as i finish college over here.
I also have an understanding of international students having to do the editional standardized tests. e.g. Toelfs, Sat I & II
My questions are?
Which 3 subject (SAT II) tests will i have to do in order to obtain a University admission to study a major in Certified Public Accounting... Especially at all 4 of the universities have chosen above???
In other words, which SAT subjects are suitable for a mojor in CPA. Accouting... And which exams am i supposed to do in general as an International Student from United Kindom?</p>

<p>You are aware that if you already went to college, you can't go to another undergrad school? You can, however, apply for graduate schools (You don't need SAT's for those, and since you are from the UK (Native speaker?), you don't have to take the TOEFL either). If you want to go to college, you can always apply as a transfer (if you're still in college. </p>

<p>Or am I misreading your words? because I don't really get all that you're trying to say (for example, the EA thing, and taking A levels in college? Don't you mean grammar school (because in that case, you CAN go to college?!)).. I'm an international as well, btw., so English is my second language (which might explain why I don't really get what you're saying (no offense, but is English your first language?!)) Anyhow, Good luck!</p>

<p>English is my first Language!
Okay, i'll rephrase. In UK, you go to primary, then secondary school, then college and finally University...
First of all, we go to primary school, then secondary (Where we do our GCSEs also known as o-levels in the US and Africa) and then we go to college where we can study a-levels, BTEC and many more.... College is where we prepare ourselves for university, we do not study undergraduate courses... we have to do that in university.. Its is also a place where we get higher/better qualifications that enables us to go to university and study undergraduate courses.
So what Americans do in grammar school, we do in college instead... and what you do in college, we do in University. But i'd like to study an undergraduate course at NYU etc... Which is a univerisity.
The american education system is lower than the British system... Thats why most people get confused.</p>

<p>So, to sum up - you are looking to enter an American university in the Sept 2010. You want to major in accounting/cpa. You are trying to look ahead and make sure you are fulfilling all the testing requirements.</p>

<p>Not all universities require 3 SAT2s. Have you looked at the web pages to ascertain if the universities you mentioned require them? I would think that Math2 should be one of them. I don't know if any other specific ones would be a good idea. For a normal university application, many students mix a humanities (history, etc), a science or math, and a language. American students are expected to show a breadth of knowledge.</p>

<p>"College" has different meanings in UK English and American English. That's why there was confusion in the previous post. In the US, the undergraduate degree can be undertaken at either a college or university. Colleges do not educate beyond the BA or BS degree. Universities can grant the masters and Phd degrees as well as medical and law degrees.</p>

<p>If I were you, I would contact the universities that you are interested in. Their admissions departments will have a person who specializes in non-US applications. They will be happy to clarify the admissions requirements for you.</p>

<p>You need to go read the sticky threads in the International Student Forum. Just about all of your questions will be answered there.</p>

<p>You can reach it by clicking on "Discussion Home" on the left-hand side of this page, and then scrolling down.</p>

<p>Okay, i will do kust that...
I will also contact the University and find out about the SATs etc...
Thanks a lot guys</p>
